This trail begins in downtown Breckenridge and heads North. The 4.9 km trail goes past a number of downtown attractions and, true to its name, follows the river, too. You’ll pass a number of fishermen, dog walkers, and those leisurely strolling along the river on this trail. While it may be a bit too easy for some, it’s a great warm-up trail and perfect for those with young children.
Look for the B&B Miles Trailhead near French Creek Road to find the beginning of this trail. On this trail, you’ll have the decline on your side as you ride downhill for the entire way through double and wide single-track lanes. If you’re looking for more of a challenge, opt to take the turning point onto the Turk’s trail as far as you wish.
To find the beginning of this trailhead, you’ll want to drive down Swan Dirt Road and look out for Tiger Run snowmobile tours. Just a few miles down the road, you’ll see the Colorado trail sign and begin your ride. The ascent will begin not far down the road after North Fork Road. Once you begin to descend, delight in the singletrack ride back down the mountain at incredible speeds.
